Get to Know Gjirafa
Before attending your interview, it is important that you take some time to learn about Gjirafa our products & services, our team & our culture. A good place to start is by exploring our Leadership Principles.
SHORT INTERVEW
Before diving into more in-depth interviews, you will typically have one or two brief conversations with Gjirafa Team members over video.
This round of interviews will usually be conducted by a recruiter, and a member of the team applied to join. Short interviews are designed to assess key skills you will need for the role.
In-Depth Interview
Being invited for an in-depth interview at Gjirafa means you are among the shortlisted candidates! Our in-depth interviews process can be rigorous. It typically involves three in-person interviews that usually require around 3 hours.
This round of interviews takes place at Gjirafa HQ and is meant to give us more insight into your way of thinking and give you the opportunity to get to know us better.
Behavioral-Based interviewing
Behavioral-based interviewing involves asking questions about past situations or challenges. During your interview rounds, you can expect the panels to prompt you to share examples of how you navigate specifics scenarios.
The purpose of behavioral questions is to help us understand who you are and how you think. When answering these questions, provide structured responses, reference real situations, and incorporate Gjirafa’s Leadership Principles.
Interview Panel
Depending on the kind of position you are applying for, you can expect to meet with 5-7 interviewers. The interview panel will likely include a recruiter, a hiring manager and the Bar Raiser.
Bar Raiser
The “Bar Raiser” is an expert in evaluating talent against Gjirafa’s Leadership Principles and identifying candidates who have long-term potential to raise the performance bar at Gjirafa. The Bar Raiser serves as an objective advisor during the interview process and is not a member of the team that you are interviewing to join.
Be Prepared
During your interview, you will be asked to answer questions about your academic background, previ- ous professional experiences, and challenges that you have encountered throughout your life.
You should also be prepared to explain why you would like to work at Gjirafa and what attracted you to the position you are applying for.
Be Straightforward
You will be prompted to engage in discussion with the interview panel and provide detailed examples about a range of topics. When answering questions, be concise but do not omit relevant information.
The interview sessions usually last approximately 30-45 minutes. Thus, you should be prepared for an extensive conversation.
Be Specific
Interviews will assess how well your qualification meets core requirements and match Gjirafa’s culture and the role you’are applying to. They will also evaluate your growth potential.
It is essential that you showcase the qualities that we are looking for. Therefore, important to know the specifics of the Job Description, especially the minimum and prefereed qualifications sections.
Be Honest
We recommend that you be as authentic as possible in your answers. At Gjirafa, we have no tolerance when it comes to truth and ethics.
If you are asked a question, but are not given sufficient information to provide a plausible answer, dont be shy about asking for clarification. If additional context is not available, focus on how you would attempt to solve the problem given limited information.
Post-Interview
In the end of the interview, we allocate a few minutes to answer any question you might have. If you find that you have additional questions and concerns after the interview, please don’t hesitate to contact your recruiting point of contact.
